The Rufus Rose House
Circa 2011
The Rufus Rose House is one of the few remaining old school residential Peachtree Street houses. It is a Queen Anne Victorian style house built in 1901. The house was originally home to Four Roses liquor founder, Rufus Rose. Sadly, this house has fallen into deep, dark disrepair. Over the years, folks have come and gone, claiming they would fix it up and make it an event space or a bar/restaraunt, but no one has followed through so far. I gathered images of it from the inter webs from about 20 years ago I’m guessing. I don’t think this house can avoid the wrecking ball much longer, so these photos are being placed here in memorium for when that time comes. Hopefully City of Atlanta or SOMEone with some class (and money) will fix it up one day… but I won’t hold my breath. Photo Credits: Jeff Clemmons.
